I finally got my graphics card, so I can finally say that my gaming + number crunching rig is almost complete. It wasn't what I really wanted or planned to get for so long, but I got some really shitty news about Vapor-X series imports (read: they won't be imported/shipped down here any times soon). All I need now is to get my hands on 2 2TB RE4 drives and I'm all set.
  • Component list:
  • Google+ gallery - it's a bit shitty at the moment, but I will reassemble and properly capture the whole thing soon.

Will check how much it improves BOINC GPU-based applications over night. Any suggestions for AMD GPU compatible projects on BOINC? If not, Folding@Home it is :3.

Now, for AMD-compatible GPU projects, here's a list:

Collatz Conjecture
DistrRTgen
Einstein@Home
Milkyway@Home
POEM@Home
PrimeGrid
SETI@Home
World Community Grid

My recommendations are POEM@Home and Collatz, though go ahead and pick something you're interested in. Progress is progress.

Woohoo! Finally punched through 20K PPD. R9 290 is ass-bad! When game settings optimization software tells you to max everything out in Planetside 2 for both quality and performance presets, you know that it's a beast; solid 60FPS in 75 vs. 75 vs. 75 :3. And, since I'll be away from my desktop for 2 weeks, I can let it crunch numbers uninterrupted >:3. Wonder if I should put 5570 back as dedicated BOINC-compute GPU...
