Brony@Home is the My Little Pony group for all things related to distributed computing and citizen science. Armed with nothing more than our computers, we strive to further humanity's understanding of medical science, technology, mathematics, and the universe in over 60 different projects.
For more information on our team and every project we are involved in, visit the About page.
How does it work?
Most projects run on the principle of distributed computing. That is, one big job that would take years to work through on a single computer, can be split up into thousands of smaller pieces and sent worldwide to volunteers who donate their computing power. Best of all, these programs are designed to use only the unused resources of your computer. That way, they can run without ever interfering with your normal computer usage, and adjust themselves accordingly, whenever you demand more from your computer.
How can I help?
It's understandable that not everyone can donate money or physically go outside and volunteer for a cause, due to financial and time constraints. That's where Brony@Home comes in. Volunteering is simple; download the software, join the Brony@Home team, and let your computer do the rest! For those that do have free time, direct-involvement projects that use your brain, rather than your computer, are available as well.
